One of our exciting plans to mark SSIB’s 10th anniversary this year is to create a new, colourful flower bed in Fullers Slade, opposite the FS bed. And work has begun!
Dominic Harris (Manor Drives) removed the turf and rotivated the ground at reduced cost, and Bunnings has donated 10 bags of manure, 5 of compost and 10 of sand to prepare the ground to welcome all those beautiful shrubs and flowers we’re going to be planting there.
On Friday a band of SSIB volunteers set off for Bunnings to load up the bags of manure etc. And brought them back to the bed, where more SSIB volunteers (including Fullers Slade residents) were waiting to help dig the enriching materials in.
The Fullers Slade Residents Association, Families from the Rowans Centre and the local Youth Group will also be lending a hand with planting and maintaining. MK Community Foundation has provided a £200 grant towards the cost of the plants, and the FSRA is also giving a donation of £50.
Watch this space as the project takes shape!
