SSIB is delighted to report that the MK Community Foundation Grant has given us a £200 grant to help pay for a red, white and blue hanging baskets workshop at the Queens Birthday Big Lunch which is being organised by the Stony Stratford Events Committee on June 5th.

The grant will help us to pay for red pelargoniums, white pansies and blue trailing lobelia; compost, and 25 baskets and 25 pots so SSIB volunteers can help children and their parents to plant them up at the Big Lunch. Not only will they learn about planting, but it will enable the children to take part in this national community event. (There will also be a strawberry planting activity.)

The following week, June 11th, SSIB will be contributing to the Queen's Birthday Big Lunch organised by the new Fullers Slade Residents' Group. The MKC Regeneration Fund is paying for the baskets, composts and plants for the hanging baskets work shop at this event, so the children and parents of Fullers Slade will be able to take part in this national community celebration with red, white and blue hanging baskets and pots for the neighbourhood too!
