The Stony in Bloom group always likes to take part in the town’s annual events, and this year the activity we organised for children at the Apple Day in the Mill Field was daffodil-planting. In the course of the afternoon 60 children came over to the SSIB table to plunge their trowels in the compost so they could cover their bulb, pat it in, and pop the pot in a bag to take home. They’ll look after it and watch it grow till it blooms (we hope!) in spring-time!
